Warner is releasing a new Batman game this October (apparently not for the next-gen systems, but that will probably change) that will be set well before Arkham Asylum and will have "a young and inexperienced Batman encounter many familiar villains for the first time", which leads one to wonder if the Joker will make a pre-return. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed by this, as it's not the Batman game I was hoping they would make (picture an open-world, real time Gotham), and Rocksteady won't be at the helm. Any thoughts?
It looks more open world than Arkham City with a larger city to explore and you can help people who are being mugged etc. Also investigating crime scenes like the other games but this time throughout the city. Its probably going to run on the Arkham City engine but just be bigger and overall more expansive. I'm hyped.
No wonder its not for the nextgen, nobody is going to spend millions making games for a console with next to no userbase, port maybe but no exclusives. As for the game I would prefer if they get back at making Gothan by Gaslight
I thought Gotham by Gaslight was basically just a proof of concept that wasn't going to be developed at all (like Mario 128). Honestly I'd be surprised if Arkham Origins didn't show up on either the 720 or PS4 at or around launch, I'm sure either company would pay a tidy sum to get it as a next gen exclusive.
