    Hey all,
Recently read about rechargeable battery leak on Super Wild Cards so thought it best to check mine.

    Oh dear.....:(

The unit still works but do I need to treat this surface in anyway after removing the bad battery?

Will the acid continue to spread?

It looks to me like the leak is 'under' the very top layer of the PCB, I tried scratching this with my finger and its a slight blister less than 1mm high but has no splits....

    Nice

Remove it immediately, Nicads can be much worse than alkaline batteries. Remove the electrolyte residue with vinegar and replace it with a battery holder if possible. BTW look at the color of the damage, if it is white just clean up and fix, consider yourself lucky if it is blue it gas already damaged the circuit board traces and you will gave to test every trace that runs through that spot.

    Thanks Tokimemofan,

This should be white vinegar right?

Also the corrosion doesn't appear to be on the top / bottom of the board it seems to be blistering from within the layers, should I dip the affected area of the board in a wash to sort this?
