looks like Operation Wolf in WWII in the South Pacific. http://tinypic.com/28ghl http://tinypic.com/28ghy I wanted this game really bad. the only place I ever saw it mentioned was EGM Number 13, August 1990, Page 84
It was also shown in the British magazine called Mean Machines or even possibly in the Complete Guide to Consoles Volume 3. I remember that one well. There must be more info on what happened to it somewhere. Yakumo
^I'd certainly like to see that Battle Mission preview in Mean Machines and/or Complete Guide to Consoles Volume 3 - perhaps someone has the material....
Did have that complete guide to consoles that featured battle mission, only one screen as i recall. Its a shame as i wanted that game so bad...
thanks for the memories. I too wanted this game bad (used to pick up C+VG,Mean Machine, and EGM religiously on a monthly basis). EGM had a way of previewing games like no other. I remember the exitment I felt at opening a new issue to see what was on the horizon for my beloved Megadrive, Super Famicom, and Neo Geo. there was another US publication, the name escapes me right now, which was also pretty stunning. also in the UK there was this strange newspaper type video games magazine which didn't last too long I believe but which was fantastic for early megadrive and super famicom import revies and info.

That top picture in the link you posted was also printed in the British mag called Complete Guide To Consoles Vol.2 under the future releases section. They made a mistake though and called it Blue Almanac which actually did get a release. Either that or I'm not remembering the magazine layout too well. Yakumo
that's pretty understandable. that top picture of Battle Mission that I posted has an awful lot of blue in it, so ^__^ heh and, Blue Almanac was being previewed at around the same time as Battle Mission.
