After about 6 years, I finally managed to get my dream phone... a Nokia 7110! I wanted to buy this about 6 years ago when it first came out, and I went to the shop with £260 in my hands, but the thing was recalled due to problems with the WAP software. However, yesterday one of the uber bosses in work had his phone upgraded to some little POS Nokia the size of a fish finger. Upon surrendering the old phone, my eye's lit up like a kid at Disney land. After telling my sob story, he gave the phone to me! (was going in the skip anyway) Oh joy, glee, rapture! I am the happiest man alive, and for some weird reason, I have free WAP even though my SIM has £0.06 credit... weird... Behold, the power of WAP 1.0: Yes, the ASSEMbler homepage on my 6 year old Nokia... well... sort of, it throws up some shit because it's not a real WAP site, and it's too big for it's tiny memory... but still, it's cool!
Heh, my dad had that phone, and managed to break it multiple times. does the slide down button still work on it?
Yeah, it doesn't have the same force behind the spring, so it doesn't get to the final click, but it is pretty much as new.
i had that phone some years ago but i didnt like the wap part just try to browse via wap to ebay and it crashs so hard you have to remove batteries to reset it... but except that it was a very good phone until my brother lost it :death iam using now a nokia 8910 which is also nice and not so big
Asssemblers got it right.... But samsung were fools! Not releasing it in the only places that would sell... the GSM market!
Arent' these the same phones? Thats the kind I want. Well the kind I would like to have was what Val Kilmer had in The Saint where it was like a mini-tiny laptop. Read about that phone in Popular Science back in 1997.
ahh did google a little around nice thing but reviews didnt like it very Samsung SPH-N270 hmmm why the heck didnt they build it for gsm
I wouldn't mind the Nokia Communicator (as used by Bond) with tah 486 processah to help you tap dat ass
i was thinking about the new communicator 9500 or so but when i saw it in comparision to my old 8910 which is around 2 times big as a zippo and then i looked at this brick of 9500 i couldnt get warm with it =(
i've had the 7110..superb phone for it's time..to bad that the mic inside the slide out nearly always breaks with time. I'm still happy with my n-gage qd..it's butt-ugly but ca do everything i want. Now if they could only stuff all of that into the Razr V3 of motorola..because that phone is soooooooo sweet in the looks department.
Agreed, mynext phone purchase is going to be the razr or similar. What's your experience of it Paulo?
