So while trying to forget berlusconi i'm keeping myself busy with many things.

    About the video:
It was shoot freehand last week in my city. It shows only the outer ancient city walls. The camera is a Canon HV2 (HD). it records in 1440x1080 50i.

the clip was compressed audioless at a resolution of 640x352? (i forgot :D) at 50fps using h.264 codec at a mere 350kbs using 3 passages at insane quality.

the shot is around 7 minutes long and takes around 19MB.

share your toughts about the video compression, etc.

    the video is located here:

    www.auritech.eu/mura350kbs3ps50fps.mp4

you might need VLC to play it, and a good pc too (h.264 is resource intensive...)

Well at first the video quality didn't look all that great at least to me on my comp but as it got further into it the quality seemed very good. I quite like what you were shooting was very nice indeed, seems like a nice place to visit and take lots of pictures.

it is a nice place :) i always miss my city when i'm abroad :D

personally i'm atonished by the quality if you think that the bitrate is less than 1/3 of a VCD at a better resolution. try to encode at 350kbs in divx and you'll see the difference!

As processing power rises then mnemonic information can be decompressed in real-time faster, hence, leading to smaller file sizes with pretty damn good quality.
