Hello everybody, even though I know HDD aren't the best way to preserve data during time I wanted to ask if there's a good hard disk to buy for preserving data that's not expensive. Maybe I'm too paranoid but I always prefere to have data in multiple places and devices (DVDs, Clouds etc..)
What Hard disk di you own? Can you suggest one?
Thanks for the support as always

Over the years I bought a lot of Seagate external HDD, even disassembled some for replacing PS3 and PS4 HDD. Didn't have one failure yet. I only have Seagate and WD mechanical hdd in my computers, so I guess they are reliable brands since they never failed me. SSD is another story...

But two cheap ones, store them in different locations, and only plug them for the backup or retrieval.

That would be the safest cheap way IMO.

There are only three HDD manufacturers left anyway, so you cannot really go wrong. Since HDDs require precision engineering, not just anybody can make one. So you will find either a Seagate, Toshiba or Western Digital in the enclosure.
