So the PS3/linear PCM thread got me to wondering what games are the best from a sound perspective. In the movie/Blu Ray world, sound is analyzed with the same care as the picture quality and of course people can pay hundreds to thousands for that ultimate sound system. I used to have laserdisc and I can swear that the dvds that came later had much tinnier sound. The Blu Rays are really a return to form of "this will knock you out" sound output. For games, I see the emphasis on graphics but never for sound. Is there a game that makes a good demo for a sound system? Much like some Blu Rays are amazing demos for your home surround system?
I don't know about you but the DTS / Dolby Digital set I have makes playing The Beatle Rockband seem as if I'm there on stage, especially when the crowd goes nuts. Bayonetta has some fantastic audio as well making good use of surround. Yakumo
