So everyone does know the best GT game in whole franchise that I should go and finish the game. Excluding the ps1 games. Is Gran Turismo sports worth my $100 at eb games also by the way ? There is heaps of those games in the franchise and is so hard to pick
GT Sport is the first game from all GT I don't wan't to get. I played beta, the oldest car there is from 80s. Few of them in all game. Poor customization. Well, it should worth 10 bucks I think. I just read thread's naming and answer it, wanted to edit post but writing it in the new. As I said GT2 is the best cause it has much more cars that you able to customize from scratch, winning unique cars (cobra 627, skyline hkt, skyline silhoette — never saw it in any other GT, the car I like most). Endurance racing that push you to the limit. Fantastic feal when you caame 1st in there. The next GT I like is GT4. Pretty good. GT5 or GT6 almost the same to me. Love its music.
GT3 for me. GT4 is a very close second but lost due some of the loading times between switching setups.
It start to work 8-10 times faster from HDD on an old PS2 Fat with Network Adapter. GT5 and GT6 works much slower from BD, you have to install PSN versions to stay your nervs well.
I'd say GT3. I'm not a huge fan of the series, but I like it, and I own all of the main ones up to 5. I've never played GT4 even though I've owned it for a while. Tourist Trophy is good, too. I didn't own a PS2 when GT3 came out, but my cousin had it, and I played it on his system soon after it came out. I didn't have my own PS2 until 2004, I think. Some of the first games I got were GT3, Tekken 4, and I think I got Final Fantasy X soon after that.
Content and gameplay wise, GT2 was the best. That game changed my life, it made me import cars from Japan and race cars. Now I play Forza...
I liked GT2. I'm not much into the series but I do own 1-3. It seemed like a perfect sweet spot. Where's @Johnny?
It's just too subjective. GT1 - It was so ahead of it's time. Not just graphically, but the whole concept of the career mode. Buy a car, do some sunday cup races. Buy parts, improve it, race modify it... The major focus on japanese brands is probably what introduced a lot of people to these great cars. I have fond memories of this. GT2 - With the sucess of the first, they decided to make it even bigger. This is where the tradition of delays started. The game improves on pratically everything. It's probably the most complete, even though some stuff were cut before release. GT3 - I love this game. The cars, the tracks, the user interface, the music. It's probably the game that most people remember when they think about the series. I recommend this one to anyone. GT Concept - As a car enthusiast i love that some concept cars are forever preserved in this game. If you enjoyed GT3, this might be for you although there's no career mode. Just challenges and the arcade mode. 2001 Tokyo Collection is probably the easier and cheaper to find, but would totally recommend going straight to 2002 - Tokyo Geneva as it's the final version (NTSC version is not as common as the PAL one) GT4 - Probably the biggest game in the series, not without it's faults though. The UI isn't as good as GT3, the user car selection is randomized and the career mode is a bit clunky. Still, if you liked GT3 this is a mandatory purchase. Tourist Trophy - A fantastic and sadly overlooked motorcycle game using the GT4 engine. It's a shame PD never made a sequel. If you enjoy motorcycles, this is the game for you. GT PSP - Never actually played, looks like a portable GT4. GT5 - This is, by far, the weirdest one. They seemed to try to do a lot of things and fell flat on pratically everything. WRC license without WRC stages, Top Gear license with VW van races,... to make things worse, the menus and interface are a chore. The install process takes ages, every update took ages... I won't lie, i had great moments playing it. Racing on Nurburgring at night, Le Mans at the dawn... But everything took such a long time to do. Buy a car, loading, animation, loading, want to drive it now?, loading,... I haven't played it after the servers were shut down, but honestly would not recommend it today. The frame-rate is all over the place, screen tearing is a constant annoyance. If you still want to try it, get the XL or the Academy edition as they have most of the patches on disc (it will still take a long time to install it...) GT6 - It was such a weird decision to release this for the PS3. Or at least, not make it for both PS3 / PS4. I only bought it an year later, played a little bit and yes, it's miles better than GT5. GT Sport - Haven't played it yet, was waiting for the career mode update.
At the moment I am literally addicted to GT Sport. However my fondest memories are with GT4. It was summer, it was a beautiful game, atmospheric music...I donno it just clicked with me unlike any other GT before it.
Wonderful summary by Johnny. GT4. If I had to have only one, it has to be GT4. /Great/ game, and a massive collection of cars and tracks. If you must limit yourself to only one, then I think this should be The Experience. But I will echo the others and recommend treating yourself to GT2 and GT3 as well. After GT4, I moved to the Forza series so can't say.
this was the maximum I could find ... also has for sale in some Chinese sites, but I think it does not come with the complete case... http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/File:SEGA_GT5_CartBox.jpg from: http://bootleggames.wikia.com/wiki/Gran_Turismo_5
I've been considering getting back into one of the GT games. I think I'll probably give 3 a shot since I haven't played very much of it. Hopefully it emulates well. I don't see why it wouldn't.
Yeah, i've seen the cart only for sale. It's so cheap, i might get it. Would be cool to find that boxed version though. I do think GT3 is the best place to start.
