So, I got myself a nice white Saturn import and a white infrared controller to boot. I've also got Saturn Bomberman and Advanced V.G. to play with for now.

My question is though, what games to get next? I'm restricted to Japanese imports only and my Japanese knowledge is limited to reading the katakana on menus.

Any recommendations would be highly appreciated, thank you!

You are in the realm of the shooter! There is no way that I could possible recommend all the shooters that are worth your while. However a good starting point would be to check out Yakumo's Saturn Shooting special. Apart from being a great program it can form the basis of a shopping list.

My personal favourite shooters are -

Battle Garegga - The scoring system comes under fire from some people. But other than that you would be hard pushed to find a fault. Graphics, music, gameplay, it is all top shelf stuff.

Soukyugurentai - again an almost perfect shooter with a great art direction.

Darius Gaiden - spot on music, balance, graphics.

You know I could go on giving praise to shooters, instead I would advise you to check out Yakumo and GaijinPunch's respective websites. Loads of quality reviews and recommendations are to be found there.

As for some more of my personal favourites -

Groove on Fight - wonderful tag fighting, decent design and pretty different in its execution.

World Heroes Jet - cheapest port and the highpoint of a decent series.

Game Tengoku - rock hard, giant sprites and some truly unique set pieces.

Night Striker S - killer soundtrack and wonderful gaming.

Samurai Spirits 3 + 4 - nothing needs to be said. Decent games in their diffent ways.

Well that is all for now, I'm sure I could go on for ages!

I hope it's me. But if I am the Great I Am, everyone is in trouble for not telling me I was omnipotent earlier.

Thanks for the recommendations Warakia [IMG]

Yakumo, I'm currently browsing through Segagaga. Dang, there' s a lot to choose from! Great resource btw, thank you [IMG]

I'm pretty easy when it comes to games. Anything, but sport and FPS (on consoles at least). RPGs are out due to the language barrier unless there's a decent translation guide, so I'm thinking fighters, puzzles, shooters, driving, etc...

A lot of games I was interested in are pretty damn expensive on eBay! For example, Bubble Bobble Symphony was £30+. Should I expect to pay such a high price?

I'll be making it a lot easier to navigate in the future like the Dreamcast section.
