    Hi(Gh),
i mean the best monitor for the MAK/SUPERGUN is the old COMMODORE 1084s monitor. The price for a good and old monitor is near like 20-30us$!
Also you can upright the monitor for vertical arcade shooters!

While that's true, what reason did you have for posting this? I don't mean any disrespect, I'm just somewhat confused.

1084s...that's like what, a 6-inch monitor? That automatically makes it a gigantic turd for arcade games. You need something bigger to play them "normally".

Nothing beats a nice bigass RGB scart TV, imho.

Unfortunately for whatever retarded reason the US has few if any SCART RGB TVs. Hell you might have to import some japanese TV with RGB or something. The thing I'm really annoyed about is the lack of knowing which TV could display Mortal Kombat I and II correctly.

The SyncMaster 940MW is a pretty good TV you can buy in the US that has SCART inputs. I've used it with an MVS and Blazing Star, and it works quite well. One bit of advice to anyone who buys one of these monitors, though; it has this stupid feature which requires you to change the monitor's region (in the TV input mode) to a country which uses SCART before it will allow you to use the SCART input. Pain in the ass if you also want to use it as a TV, but it is a good monitor besides all that. It also functions as an HDTV and a computer monitor. It even has HDCP, so you could potentially use it with future Blu-ray players, HD-DVD players, etc.

Not any Sony TVs, that's for sure. I've had 2 (including my current LCD projection) that cannot sync properly to the Midway boards with abnormal sync rate. I used to use an old Commie 14" monitor that I had with my C64 growing up, but the picture was way too small. I'm looking into buying a real RGB monitor so that I can do away with my RGB to s-video encoder.

Kind of an old thread to respond to, but might be useful to others.
