Hi. Never really been interested in the PSP before. In fact, it has not even been on my radar- as if it has not even have existed. I did own one for one evening (had two stuck pixels) though. I'd like to get a cheap one- a PSP 1000 really- with a few games that I am interested in- Loco Roco, Patapon, and Wipeout. I'm sure there are lots more games worth my time, though? What do you think are the defining games of the PSP?
Crisis Core if you're a fan of the FF7 franchise. The Metal Gear AC!D games are pretty addictive. God of War is good but pretty short. They also make wicked PS1 emulators if you can be bothered to convert your ISO's.
MGS: Peace Walker, the Konami shooter collections (even though I'd sooo much rather have them on PS2), Lumines
Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles, Mega Man Powered Up, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X, Star Ocean First Departure, Final Fantasy IV Complete Collection, Ultimate Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Tactics Ogre, Ys 1&2 Chronicles, OutRun Coast 2 Coast, Metal Slug Collection. Why do you want a 1000 series? I think the 2000 series is better as the dpad isn't total crap like on the 1000.
God of War Chains of Olympus is really short but God of War Ghost of Sparta is long as any other PS2's GOW. FF7 Crisis Core is awesome. Metal Gear Portable Ops and Peace Walker are both very nice games. Adamiro's Pump it Up is fun. Silent Hill Shattered Memories and Origins if you are into survivor horror. Those are the titles in the top of my head by now.
Persona 3 PSP spent many hours on that game Metal Gear Portable Ops and Peace Walker both good Metal Gear games. Crazy Taxi pack is good for a quick blast on every now and again too.
I've been tempted to get a PSP but given the various hardware revisions I'm not really sure which to grab. Friend of mine told me yesterday that the 1000 series was overall rock hard stable compared to the rest. I recall something about the 2000 or the 3000 series having screen problems.
Here are my favourites on the PSP: Lumines II WipEout Pure Ridge Racer 2 Little Big Planet Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories I deliberately sought out a 1000 revision because of their stability, and it was definitely worthwhile because I've not experienced any problems... (so far, at least!) *touch wood*
PSP has tons of good stuff to play. Depending on what you're looking for I highly recomend the following. God of War (both of them) Daxter (by studio who did GoW PSP) Syphon Filter (both) Resistance Retribution (from the Syp Filt. team) Persona 3 Portable Y's (Oath in Falg or 7) The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky MGS: Piece Walker MG Acid 2 (note, not an action game) Kingdom Hearts BBS Hot Shots Golf 2 Castlevania .... Still more, just have to remember the rest from my collection.
I enjoyed After Burner Black Falcon a lot! It`s almost the perfect game for your 15 minutes of entertainment in between.
PSP has a ton of great games, but as sticking to exclusives (not counting PC) I'd recommend: Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core Ys The Oath of Felghana Ys Seven Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Daxter Half-Minute Hero Dead Head Fred Jeanne D'Arc Prinny Prinny 2 Star Soldier Goku Makaimura Kai (improved version of Ultimate Ghouls n' Ghosts) DJ Max Portable: Black Square Should know Japanese to play: Zwei!! Dangan-Ronpa Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Second Chapter (SC)(2x UMDs) Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 3rd Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki (not related to Trails series) And the not yet released (some probably wont get english versions): Final Fantasy Type-0 Persona 2: Innocent Sin Grand Knights History Terror Of The Stratus Over My Dead Body
