hey im looking at buying an xbox, is there anywhere like lukie games that will ship to canada cheaply? i just want the console i dont want some ebay bundle but idk i might end up just getting one off ebay
i managed to pickup some faulty xbox units for around £8 each on ebay , they only needed replacement disc drives (i had some spare)
I picked up a supposedly faulty Xbox for $19 shipped from eBay. Said the DVD drive was crapped out. It wasn't. Console ended up being a revision 1.1 with factory installed Samsung SDG605B DVD drive. It's now in China getting worked over by Trusty for 128MB RAM and 1.4 Ghz CPU.
Check either Kijiji or Craigslist, whatever is most active in your area. They're the absolute best for getting second hand consoles, plus you can work in trade deals and haggling.
Postage will shit on any xbox deal, no matter how good or bad it is. Better off getting them locally.
^this. I have about a dozen excess Xbox ( in Canada ). Most of them have dodgy of faulty optical drive though. I dont know what to do with them, the cost of shipping them even locally makes them almost unsellable. I am thinking of selling them pre-modded.
So true. My $19 "faulty" Xbox was bought for $3 because it was an auction and I was the only bidder. Rest went to shipping...
I bought a parts unit which turned out to be an easy fix for $12.00 off Craigslist, it's now working fine.
Thrift shops in my area always tend to have Xbox hardware/controllers/accessories for pennies on the dollar.
yea they seem really expensive, ive just had bad experiences withlocal stuff i have had, first xbox i bought myself ( allso first console i allso bought myself) was a cristal limited edition and when i got home i noticed the bottom of the xbox had a brown chemical on the inside, coffee or something. allso i had a xbox i bought on kijiji PACKED with dust
Locally or cough up the money for postage, there's nothing else you can really do. Dust is nothing, just brush it all out...
