there's a lot of theories/studies. Some studies says that it's probably a genetic inheritance that have extremely fertile womans, as a natural control of births.

Also as mentioned, homosexuality is diffused between animals too and a fenomena as ancient as the world.

BTW, i hope that everyone's job as a human is not ONLY to reproduce. That would really seem degrading of the great gift of intellect we're given.

lastly, in my poor, medioeval country many people actually think of homosexuality as an illness and some "places to cure" them were discovered not too long ago.

Karsten, until very recently. Then Agape (an organisation in Denmark) got supported by money from the government, and the goal about Agape was to "help" homosexuals to get "straight", now Agape are getting zilch from the state in support. Even though I hate my fucked up government. A guy from DPP (Danish Peoples Party) he said , that homosexuals were psychologically handicapped. But then again it does not surprise me, when it comes from the DPP which basically are the cleaned up version of a Nazi party or a neo fascist party if you prefer that word.
