am looking into getting a saturn, was wondering what was the best one to look out for, not so much for collectability but for reliability and ease of playing imports etc.

also as im pretty much a saturn virgin ( i did own one years ago but only ever played tomb raider on it until i got a psx) what accessories / games are the best to look out for? particularly saturn exclusive games (already have panzer dragoon saga) and finally whats the best way to hook up to a 37" lcd tv?

any help guiding me in the right direction would be appreciated

The best way is to probably get a SCART RGB cable for it, and if you have SCART RGB on your LCD use that. If not get a SCART RGB to Component Video converter. If you can't be bothered with that, get a S-Video cable for it.

I don't know about a whole lot of exclusive Saturn titles but some great titles for Saturn in my opinion:

    Street Fighter Collection 2 (SF2,SF2CE,SF2HF)
    Street Fighter Collection (SSF2,SSF2T,SFA2G)
    Street Fighter Zero 3
    Metal Slug
Marvel Super Heroes Vs Street Fighter
    X-Men Vs Street Fighter
    Radiant Silvergun
    Elevator Action Returns
Darius Gaiden (waaaay better than the shitty PSX port)
    Bubble Symphony
    Puzzle Bubble 2X
    Dungeons and Dragons
    Guardian Heroes

There's plenty more, those were just some that came to mind.

For a Saturn, just buy a good condition Saturn that's NTSC and get a Action Replay 4M Plus cartridge so you can play any region games as well as 1M and 4M RAM cart games. Alternatively you could buy whatever Saturn you can and modchip it and region patch games or possibly install your own region switch I think. It's probably easiest and cheapest to pickup a local Saturn and grab a AR cartridge.

I think either way you'll want to be able to play both US and Japanese games.

Not always. The only shop around here with one wanted $50 with hookups, one controller and no games.

I paid $50 for one but came with 6 games, 2 controllers. Modded the system and sold just the console for $60.
