If I wanted to take pictures capturing many buildings and landscapes of the city what's the top spot? Like in New York I took pics atop the Empire State building or in Hong Kong from the Peak or in Shanghai the Pearl TV Tower (just to give examples what I'm looking for). Are there any really tall buildings that allow public access for tourists wanting to see the city from above?

In Shinjuku, the Tokyo Metropolitan Gov't building has a free lookout room... you get a great view of the surrounding metropolis... if it's not too hazy that day.

Or there's always atop Tokyo Tower.

If you go to Seattle, Kerry Park and Gasworks Parks have the best view of the city.

Roppongi Hills has a look out, which I've been meaning to go to for a while. Note that some of the best pictures of Shinjuku *ARE* of the Tochou (Metropolitan Building) so make sure to hit the nearby park and grab some.

This is the worst time of year to be taking such pictures though.

ahhh it's pretty hazy in the summer? I should've gone in september during the tokyo game show but the ticket cost almost 3x as much

this round trip ticket only cost me $350USD through northwest airlines

btw I actually do go to Seattle quite often Graciano but have never been to those places...I go quite a bit for Seahawhs and Mariners games. There was a time I never missed a Red Sox game there heh

Make sure you visit Tokyo Tower. It costs you a bit (actually even a bit too expensive if you want to hit the top level) but I think it's worth it, especially at dusk/night.

It's rainy season right now. So, chances are high that it's going to either be raining, or at least very cloudy. Sometimes starts to clear up around the 3rd week of July. I think Parliament is meeting next week to talk about possibly making it end a bit quicker this year.

Mid June through the end of July is basically the worst time to visit Japan.
