Switchbox and setup Hello, I just went out to Radishack to get this composite switcher thing. Its awesome, I can hook up 4 different consoles. The reason I am really happy is because I never had this before and it is so much easier gaming in my room. I can now hook up my PS1. When I buy my future console, I will put it next to the Gamecube. I know this post is really pointless but I just wanted to tell you guys. I don't have much money so I can't really improve on the video quality of my games.
LOL amazing! BTW have you herd of the SEGA Dreamcast? Its very rare. I got a incredble deal! traded my PS4 for it complete in box and 3 games LOL
Sadly, Calpis is right to mock you in this instance. I've had one since 1993. Then I bought the Samsung GX gaming TV that has 4 (?) inputs built in, & I was part of the future... Of the mid-late 90's. Still, glad you're so ecstatic about something most of us take for granted. No longer are the days of swapping cables!
Nice switchbox, but couldn't you have at least rotated the pictures before posting? Maybe research the best output of your consoles? Some "Wii" need a different switchbox, even the old PS1 has SVideo though your HDTV might not.
Wish I could be that happy over a switch box. Only this excited for Xbox stuff I don't own, or a really beautiful girl likes me.... But more of a chance to find Xbox stuff I don't own
Is this a joke thread? Please tell me it is. Switch boxes have been around since the 80's if not longer. In fact I've thrown out many composite switch boxes over the years. I have no use for them at all or composite come to think of it.
Welcome to the jaded life of a collector. It can get worse...I had 10 boxes of lovely items reach me from Japan last August (22-24/8/2013)...I'm yet to unpack 8 of them, haven't even opened 2 to check the contents. Now I'd never be so lax when it came to a beautiful girl liking me though...for all you honeys that may be reading!
Better get to those boxes then, I usually unpack things as soon as I get them. Why have you been putting them off?
Waiting for bin day with a recycle bin filled with cardboard and having to get rid of all of the excessive protective stuff? .... I totally don't have a corner of my little office just stacked with empty cardboard boxes at the current time. >_>;
For all the years I've been playing videos games I've never purchased a switch box. Not sure why, I guess I like having to switch cables and re-hook up stuff when I switch consoles. Did it since I was a kid so its kind of just engrained. Now I feel like an old man, stuck in his ways...
lol What are you talking about. Yea Im not stupid. I know more then he thinks. Oh no it's not. I just always wanted one and I finally got one. Aww man that was so annoying!! but now you press a button and it's awesome.
Nobody ever called you stupid, but I am tempted to after your quadruple post. Seriously, how does every forum have new users posting multiple times when it could be all in one post? I will never understand this... I guess it's just laziness since they seem unable to multi quote or even quote, copy & paste l, then include it all in one post. I even said I was happy that you were so excited about something we take for granted. That is almost always a good thing.
You seem 12. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) I guess it's the times. The "home of the obscure" was the site for discussing obscure gaming ie limited-release, black/grey market, not-for-sale, development and prototype items. But now it's also another soapbox for blog-format hyper-casual gaming musings.
As others have mentioned, these things have been around forever and are common as dirt. It's like getting excited about an extension cable. I have a couple of these that I use just for audio - my audio setup is pretty complicated. But I use SCART for video (as well as VGA for the other monitor), so I just manually switch them. I could just get a cheap SCART switch box, but it's hard to know what kind of quality they have, and it's pretty easy to switch SCART cables. A 4-input switch would be sufficient for my purposes.
They're everywhere. Do a search on google, eBay, Amazon, etc. and you'll find thousands of them. Even places like Walmart and Target usually have them.
