Sounds like a question for Yakumo.

I'm not aware that there are any good versions of Time Gal. I'd assume the best version is the VHD version played with an MSX tho.

As Shou said, Laser Active for both versions but they cost a lot so if you want the game for a cheap price I'd get Time gal on the Saturn along with Ninja Hayate. Both games on that pack have full Japanese and Western versions of the games plus fully custom dip switch settings. The Mega CD version of Time gal has a vocal music track for the opening (which was removed from the western version) and a few other audio tweaks plus has the best screen HUD out of all versions. Unfortunately the Mega CD video isn't so hot these days.

Strahl on the Saturn is VERY HARD. It's nice but way too tough. It does feature a new intro that other versions don't have though.

On Time Gal... The arcade version would be nice but I've never seen one and I imagine that if it did show up it would sell for more then a Laseractive, Megadrive module and the game would cost.

The Laseractive Mega LD is arcade perfect and is the one to get, although you would need to cash in lots of investments or sell a kidney to buy, the MSX or Sharp X1 VHD version is near arcade perfect but is impossible to find, plus you would need a compatable VHD player and the interface and then hope that the loader tape still works and that the VHD is still playable.

If you want to play the most accurate version without spending too much then I would get the Playstation version as the video encoding is slightly better then the Saturn version (imagines Yakumo foaming at the mouth...), although the Playstation version is harder to find and does cost more when you do find it.

The Mega CD version is probably the cheapest and is very different but is still fun.

I didn't know Time Gal was on the PSX. I knew Road Blaster was though.

Like many compilations of the time, those LD game double packs were also released for PSX.

I never understood where's the fun in LD games to be honest. Would you guys still play it if there weren't any memories attached to it? Or maybe it's just because I am not the biggest anime-fan on the planet... Road Blaster is rather entertaining though, but the Western stuff like Dragon's Lair - ....! -__-
