I didn't know wether to put this here or the computer support since it has something to do my website but it not really support.

Anyway for my improved website which has just switched hosting i am trying to create a history page about console gaming from the NES/SMS upto the PS3, Wii, 360 and it will include planned but unrealesed consoles but rather than just being a generic list from a-z or whatever it will hopefully will be listed in order released/ planned released dates.

I am ok with creating the page but need some advice on what would be the best way to lay things out other than the basic list format

Well, think of it in terms of functionality. You want it to be easy to navigate, but also easy to update as you add more items.

So you could go with a tree-like navigation system, where the menu expands to show entries underneath it when it's clicked on. For instance, the menu button says "Nintendo," then when it's clicked there's the various Nintendo systems underneath it. I'm pretty sure I've seen javascript examples of this kind of menu system you could just cut and paste out there.

    That's one idea, be creative.

That would me my suggestion as well. If you don't want to use Javascript, just use normal button. Nintendo, Sony, Sega,... When you click one of them, it opens another html with every console

Been trying out a few ideas so i now have 3-4 diffrent trial pages using my site design but since i'll be limited for time the next week and a bit it will be a case of refining what i've already done unless i get more time to try out a few other ideas.

Its mostly going to be based by type 16bit, 32bit ...ect. and listed in order from when they were released or in the case of unreleased when they were planned to come out or something simmilar depending on what console it is.

I am also planning on using links to group consoles together like every sony/nintendo console as well as to show important console releases which had an impact to a particualr console.
