Im about to make ISOs of a bunch of console and PC cd's i have lying around here (yes, originals in case you're wondering). I was wondering with which FREEWARE windows tools i could do that the best, and in which format i could save them best? No copyprotection issues as the PC CD's are OLD games. The idea is that i store some of them on an external hdd i have lying around, and i'll be able to mount/burn/use them in the future, even if i decide to go and use some other OS/filesystem in the future (OSX, Linux, future windows versions or whatever).
DAEMON Tools is one of the very first things I ever install on a computer. IsoBuster looks like a good companion (I just downloaded it myself). VV DAEMON Tools is for mounting images and circumventing copy protection; I have no idea about ISO Buster.
ISOBuster and DAEMON Tools can CREATE CD Images? That's new to me. Well you could download the trial version of Goldenhawk CDR-Win, it's speed limited in Shareware Mode but still works fine. Creates bin/cue files.
Power Iso is also a great iso maker, or for that matter Clone CD / Clone DVD. Anyway it is a jungle out there
