G'Day, I read through the storing & preserving sticky thread above and found it extremely useful & well constructed! but i would like to hear opinions and methods used on your own items also.
I have alot of cib n64 controllers & systems from my years of collecting that i would like to put into long term storage at my house. I have a great room situated half underground that maintains a constant temperature all year round and has no windows or sunlight that is perfect and free of humidity and moisture also. Im looking to find the best method of storing these electronic items for the long term. any help and advice is appreciated!

    My main concerns are:

can i store systems & controllers after individual wrapping in plastic tubs that do not breath? in case of flooding or pipe bursting? is this a do or dont?
I understand its a dont for electronic items if you have fluctuating temperatures to be sealed but since its pretty constant all year round would this damage or cause increased moisture or air corrosion if fully sealed off?

so whats some hot tips i should take here guys?

    Cheers,

Regarding plastic bins and water emergencies, this I have some experience in unfortunately. If there were a sudden flooding in the area where your bins are, they will be safe as long as their weight does not cause them to sink. Another thing that can cause them to sink is if there is something on top of them that may keep them down, or capsize them.

When I had a flood, all my bins survived except the one I had something on top of it. The other ones were floating about like little boats.

    That must've been fairly amusing.

My solution: live on the second story of your building. OTOH in case of fire you'll have to chuck things out the window.
