In a related note, what did they eventually build at ground zero? For a while there was a lot in the news about various memorials that were planned, which one was selected?
It's still a hole in the ground. Not in a condecending way. Parts of the building are still there. But as for what will actually go there is still in debate due to politics and will most likely stay a hole for a few more years.
As he said, it's just a hole. From a nice design, it's become political. Now it's a boring building with no artistic value at all.
Well, prolly not artistic but it makes effect. I fear I'll travel too late to US for seeing GZ with my own eyes as its now...
Whatever they do, it should remain tasteful. Sometimes simpler is better. For instance the Vietnam memorial, just a wall with engraved names, but it's really powerful.
