I am not sure whether Pikkon feels comfortable with telling the World, so I shall do it for him.

He's a pretty accomplished guitarist and over the last few years that I've known him I've watched several bands form and disband, some tour opportunities come and go and despite the obvious musicianship and ability things haven't really taken off.

At one point I thought he was about to quit, get a proper job ;-) and settle down to mundanity!

Well, things are about to change. He's relocating to L.A. having been asked to join a band, get recording and start touring.

So let me be the first to say good luck and best wishes!

Best luck, and whatever you do don't get pulled into heroin. It's
all over LA like cocaine used to be.

Well, I don't think anyone has to fear as I spoke to Pikkon earlier and he sent me his latest press snap.... lol

Clearly the Florida sunshine has done this 20 something a lot of good and prepared him for the excesses of L.A. ;-)

Mundanity will still be there, waiting patiently, should it's services be required in the future - in the meantime, live the dream! Good luck & have fun, Pikkon!

Same in the UK, price has dropped by about a half in the past 10 years.

Best of luck Pikkon, what genre band is it?

Shit, didn't realise that! Not good, don't do Keith Richards route or even attempt it!

No worries mate, it's always great to get good news as frankly I think '09 has thus far been a bit of a bitch for most of my mates.

Just remember when you end up in a $$$$$$$$$$$ band that you are a decent guy!

... and if you end up in a -$$$$ band, no sweat at least you gave it your best shot! Loads of people don't even get that far and sit in their bedrooms afraid of making an arse of themselves on stage (me for instance!)

Pikkon: congratulations and good luck. You said alternative/punk rock... do you know of the Swedish alternative rock band known as Kent ? they are pretty smashing great, and has also released songs in English.

And there was me thinking you were trying to keep it underground and down with the kids ;-)

Oh and what sort of punk, what band influences do you have?

LOL - I think the 'kids' have overtaken us dinosaurs. There are some amazing young guitarists and bands springing up all of a sudden, which gives me hope that we are not going to find the music scene dominated by Simon Cowell pre-packaged b*ll*cks forever!

Meth would be the new cocaine, as it's cheaper, stronger, and is also an amphetamine. Heroin is totally different, since it's an opiate and produces a different (and, in my opinion, more enjoyable) high.

With that cleared up, best wishes to you, sir. I have the utmost respect for people who can live off of what they love to do (legally, of course).

Good luck Pikkon, it good that your are getting somewhere and i hope it goes well for you which i'm sure it will.

As long as there are enough "proper" bands comming through than the Simon Cowell crap then i'll be happy, i mean he does find some good singers through his shows but 90% of them never last long even if they win those show. Those shows are the only way they get noticed otherwise they'd still be in their day job and then there are many very talented musicians working hard to make it and they spend years and years to get anywhere.
