Sad day. It looks like this kit has reverted to it's 3RROD state with a seemingly impossible to get error code. Unfortunately, I am going to have to get it reballed. If anyone has any recommendations, PM me, I would appreciate it.

i thought beta 2's only went up to 9328 since the chinese hacked that recovery?

 

That's what it was on when I got it, but it updated to 20871.2 without a hitch. The kinect dash is a bit slow, though.

 

Maybe too much stress on the hardware caused the RROD...Kinda interesting that there are no other problems with running the 20xxx software on it.

 

It definitely wasn't software. A quick reflow got the console working again. The only problem was the retail dash ran slow, probably because the hardware was out of date, as you said. All else, pefectly.

Edit: maybe the strain on the hardware caused it to run hotter then RROD. That's possible. I'll look in to downgrading.

 

It should be noted that XDKs don't update from PNET. It sounds like you just want to use the kit as a JTAG, so sell the kit and buy a Jasper R-JTAG or slim RGH.

 

I have 2 JTAGs and a slim. If it sounded like I want to use the kit as a JTAG, I would have asked about xbox live stealth or call of duty lobbies.

Edit: I don't have much experience with the SDK. I asked somewhere on here but no one got back to me. Can I emulate (debug) games on the 360 without needing the USB emu port located on the sidecar (which I don't have/it doesn't support)?

 

Its possible mate, you have to go through a lot of shit really, like create a user on your pc, I believe same name as your XDK, but I do XeDK for machine name and pc user, then set up remote PC sharing on the XDK and create a folder to share and share it on your PC using advanced sharing, letting everyone have full access. Sorry if I'm pretty vague, that's off the top of my head, I'm at work at the minute, sondow had a neat guide somewhere deep in this section but only just recently the picture links died so you can't read anything :/
