I recently ended up with a Gameboy Advance dev cartridge with a very unfinished version of Catwoman on it. I'm wondering how best to go about dumping it. And once I have a copy of its current contents, would it be possible to reflash this card with something more interesting? Note that it's currently set to 128mbit. Can anyone read the Japanese below? Part number AGB-013 is a GBA game that features the tilt sensor. I guess they reused the case plastic. I suspect I'd need to plug a special cable into that white port to reprogram the card. And here we are booted up. The game is very unfinished. No intros, no sound, etc. It says WAIT in the top corner because that's what the character is doing. It changes to say RUN, JMP, FALL, etc. And all over the place are little icons like this, which seem to suggest the developers planned to put something there later. I've never played the finished game so I don't know. So what do you guys think?
You'd need an official programmer which no-one seems to have, or a modified MBv2 cable which I've asked for a lot of times and no-one has.
Did you try to dump it using a NDS?? http://filetrip.net/f3228-GBA-Backup-Tool-0-21.html This do not work for all game, but you could try at least.
Was that addressed to me? I'm not looking to sell it. I've just got this cool rare piece of hardware with a particularly dull version of the most boring GBA game I can think of on it. So far I haven't tried anything, as I've never done any sort of GBA dev. What sort of interface does it use?
You just plug the game in your Nintendo DS and start that DS program from a DS flash card and it will dump the game on the microSD card of you DS flash card.
Ahh. I sold my DS and its flash cart because I realized I had only ever used it for Scribblenauts. I'll have to borrow a friend's and give it a try.
I will translate this for you, but it's a lot less profound then you think. Translation: AGB Cartridge, 128M Flash S Dip switch settings SW3 is the write protection switch. Please only switch it to OFF for writing, otherwise keep it in the ON setting. In order to prevent failures, please switch the slide switch using tweezers.
Profound or not, I'm glad to know what it says. Thanks for the help. I've been delayed in dumping this ROM for a few more days because my friend doesn't have a flash cart in his DS right now. But I'll be able to turn something up soon. I hope...
