Hi I've got a video thats in Betacam SP NTSC format. (with the marking '20' on the tape flip cover) ...Being based in the U.K the Beta format thing never really caught on, so I'm left with a potentially nice 2001 E3 video detailing the Xbox that I can't view!!! Anyway, my question is does anyone know of anybody, or company that can say run the tape and save it back to P.C, for instance, so that it can be burnt to DVD-R? Thanks in advance. old engineer
try www.avforums.com , there are quite a few people with beta video decks there, they'll probably help you out
Betacam SP is popular over here - it's like the most popular broadcast-quality analogue video format there is! It's not compatible with Betamax (the home video format you're probably thinking of). Anyone who deals with professional video stuff should be able to take them, but I don't know common it is for PAL decks to be able to play NTSC tapes. And if possible, ask for them to just convert it to an NTSC DVD - NTSC-to-PAL conversions usually look like ass - the ones they use for broadcasting cost a bomb, and half them are shit too.
Yeh, I know the difference between Betacam and Beta, still not had any luck trying to sort this though, so if any of you guys find a place that can help I'd be very pleased to hear.
