I posted this on a couple other forums, but it was lacking here, so...

I thought I'd post pics of my completed Neo Geo CD collection. According to the Neo-Geo.com price guides, there are 100 Neo Geo CD games: 96 regular games and 4 special editions (Art of Fighting 3 Box Edition, KOF 96 Collection, KOF 98 w/99 calendar, and KOF 98 Special Box Edition). I now own all 100 games, plus Last Hope NGCD, and a Neo Geo CD carrying case. In addition, I also have two boxed top-loading CD's, a boxed front-loader, and a boxed CDZ.

It took me 7 months and only $2167.44. According to the prices guides (which are outdated), the 100 CD's alone are worth between $3270 (low) and $4970 (high), so I think it is a pretty good investment.

Plus, as an added bonus, the above collection is just the Japanese versions of the games. I also have 45 US/English versions of games (not shown), and my next goal is to complete a collection of all English versions of games.

NGCD collection (US games not shown):

    English:
Spectacular, simply spectacular. Highlight the Neo Geo \\\"First Model\\\", a console of which only manufactured 20.000 unities.

    Español:
espectacular, simplemente espectacular. Destacar la Neo Geo "Primer Modelo", una consola de la que solo se fabricaron 20.000 unidades.

Nice, the Neo Geo CD is a nice machine to try and collect a fullset for as apart from a couple of games, everything is quite easy to find and not too much money. I found that the early Neo Geo games like Super Spy, Fatal Fury and Nam 1975 were harder to find then some ofther games.

I've tried to collect a full set but keeping to a $25 maximum on every game and only collecting games in the wild, I have stalled on around 85.

Very very nice! Also, I like the Neo Geo CD platform a lot. The pads are nice, the music is fantastic!

I owned an AES, but the prices for that system are off the world. I've tried MVS too, but too much of a hassle.

I'm also looking to get my hands on a new/prestine condition Neo Geo CD system. I want a collection just like this.

    Very nice collection!

Am I the only one that gets a warm & fuzzy feeling from SNK artwork? The character design and boxart is always awesome... ahhh blissful nostalgia!

Wow that a great collection. I love the KOF98 wooden box edition, does it have any cool extras in there?

You might consider lifting that $25 limit and getting those last few games. The Neo Geo CD is one system where trying to get a complete collection is not impossible or overly expensive.

    No Frog Feast? :110:

Great collection! I'm at least one short (Ironclad), but I have an odd mix of US and Japanese games.

Actually, I do have Frog Feast, but I didn't have it when the above pics were taken. I will post a pic of it when I get a chance.

Great collection. Thanks for sharing. Is it just me or was the standard of game box artwork better back then?

I do have many brand new games for sale, but those have been wet due to an asian storm (literally). The games would be playable, but the instructiosn are "stuck" to the cd case..:(

Other than that maybe 1/2 games, but nothing more..since i completed my factory sealed fullset,i'm not into it anymore.. :)

    But that's Bibliophile thread,not mine! ;-)

or you can do like bibliphile did(to a certain extent), he bought mine neo geo cdz with about 50 games(including rare titles such as overtop, driftout, metal slugs) for little over $800.
instant collection, just gotta keep your eyes peeled ;-)
neo geo cd is a great system to collect for, has a fantastic array of titles available, for the most part inexpensive(except slew of titles naturally),
it is quite popular to collect for neo cd for that reasons(in most people mind, mvs-ghetto looking, aes-too expensive, cd fits the bills-loading times hurt it though).

Very nice collection. I'm impressed that you did it so quickly, and with relatively low cost. I'm very impressed that you know exactly what you spent!!

Do you use one of those machines for playing the games, or do you have a spare machine?

I'd love to see the English collection when it is completed! Are all the games available in English?
