Hi guys! well, this is the situation:
I was looking for an original copy of the Biohazard 0 Trial Edition disc, and I finally found one on ebay a couple of months ago. Im interested now in dumping it, but i have a couple of doubts. One is that maybe this could be illegal, so if this conversation here is forbidden please forgive me, and any moderator can close or delete the thread. The other thing is that I know this was already dumped, but it is located only in private collections/hands/etc, so it is not of public domain, and it is not avaliable for download. I want to share it with anyone because is a rare game, it cant be buyed easily in a store, and well, rare and expensive games have been dumped in the past. Is a good idea to dump it now? or is better to wait for someone to share it?

Just a pacific question, i dont want to make any problem, and thanks everybody for any answers.

Good find! I'd be glad to help.

Since you say "disc" instead of "discs" I assume you're referring to the Wii version rather than the Gamecube.

There are a few ways to dump it. These are your options:
    • Get a computer disk drive that supports reading Wii discs and use a computer with special tools
      • The drive would be around $30 USD (if you can find one) - Total $30 USD
    • Get a SD to Memory Card adapter (such as the SD Gecko), a GameCube controller (to use the tools) and an SD card, then use special tools (to use the tools on the Wii you either need a legit copy of Twilight Princess (for the Twilight Princess hack) OR to use a modded Wii)
      • SD Gecko ($15 USD), SD card ($10 USD), GameCube controller ($20 USD) and either
        • Legit Twilight Princess ($30-40 USD) - Total: $75-85 USD
        • A modchip ($1-50 USD, depending on drivechip version) - Total: $46-95 USD
Prices are approximate based on 'official sources' and don't include shipping or the price of a Wii.

I personally have opted for the Twilight Princess method since it opens the world of homebrew. Pick the option you prefer and we'll continue from there.

If you want to contact me directly, I can be reached through AIM, MSN, email and I will be checking this thread sometime tomorrow.

    thanks for the response Chell65
mmm the game is the Biohazard Zero Trial Edition for the GameCube, as far as i know it is just one disc. Here are a couple of pics of the disc (not actual pictures of my disc because i dont have a camera, but is exactly the same disc):

I probably will use the Phantasy Star Online method, but if you know a better dumping method just let me know :icon_bigg Seeya!

Ah GameCube! Well If you're already familiar with a backup method then the hardest part is done. :)

The Wii backup methods all work on GC games as well as Wii games. Choosing the best method comes down to which you are most familiar with and have the required hardware to do.

If you're ready to do the PSO method and have what's needed, I say go for it. Be sure to send me a link to the torrent!

    PSO works fine.

You can also try the LG drive with modified firmware.those drives cost about 20USD a piece.

Not to rain on the parade but the demo is not rare and is worth about $10 brand new.

I thought there already was a so called "scene" release of this thing from like... 4 years ago?
(Especially odd if there's not, considering I was the one who provided the copy that was used, woohoo, $9.99 well spent at Play-Asia for a demo! + I should still have the "release files"+NFO somewhere)

Think Dot50Cal also did a rip of his own that was spread somewhat into circulation about two years-ish ago for "research" purposes.
(Which was how this thing was discovered)

Anyway, for personal preservation, nothing beats a rip of your own :)
But if you're just thinking of sharing/non-optical preservation of a demonstrational/promotional oddity for the common man, then that has already been taken care of in the past. (Though, I guess lack of interest made it not-so-widespread and then just made it fall off the surface of the earth.)
