Hi, i m planning to dual BIOS mod my Dreamcast ( +VGA + SD internal). Now my question is , what is the best BIOS for my needs? I need region free Dreamcast , devkit boot animation,no VGA check , and boot from original games,backup and SD Are those things possible from dreamshell BIOS? Have any suggestion ,please share with me cause I can t make a decision between that and Japanese cacke one or something else Edit Is it right there isn t a full dreamshell BIOS but only a CD loader that let s you boot dreamshell from SD card? Did I understand correctly? So I can use Japanese cacke BIOS and boot dreamshell from SD with a CD bootloader Link83 BIOS is better?
There are many hacks that allow flashing the bios to boot from sd, ide, etc... Burn a disc with latest dreamshell. I like link83 hacked dev bios for most things. Within dreamshell is a bios flasher app. Choose write and select from the various bios favors already included and play around with them. Worst case you don't like the result, boot back into dreamshell with stock bios, and ref lash it with something else.

It hadn't been, but I recently switched to it. It's not the one that due out, but it's the one that's basically link83 but added vga patch. His latest one looks interesting though
Japanese cacke was my chose... I couldn't wait for an answer,and so my Guinea pig Dreamcast has Japanese cacke BIOS + VGA and stereo audio + sdcard with Dreamshell and games. I m waiting for the new version of this biosit s great!!!
