I with Taucias on this one. Unlike Halo 1 and Halo 2's pre-sale suspence, Halo 3 seems like a ready-cooked meal just waiting to go in the microwave. The hype just isn't there from what I gather. The graphics are ass as well for a product launching in late 2007.
I don't know... Bioshock has seen far more hype than Halo 3 in my opinion. Everyone I've talked to could really care less about it, especially since most of them don't own (or care about owning) a 360. Bioshock also has the benefit of launching a few months in advance. It's not like Halo 3 can "steal" any sales from Bioshock.
I only got a 360 for Bioshock, I didn't want to risk ruining the experiance by playing on an underpowered PC and....it was worth every penny . Still doesn't beat System Shock 2 but comes close. Now just to continue my quest to snap up all the Bioshock merch that's produced! Oh and get the last 100 achievement points :-/ ....
Quote me if you like but I'm gonna go as far as saying that Bioshock is the best game I've ever played. ...I don't say this lightly, but in nearly 40 years of gameplaying I'm serious about what I say. ...It's not the fact the game is original, it's the fact that it has all the best bits of damn near every game ever made combined into one hit. Simply beautiful.
Strange peoples perceptions I have not seen much on Bioshock before it was released. Not compared to Heavenly Sword on PS3 or Halo 3 From what I have seen I don`t think Halo 3 will be anywhere near as good graphically as Bioshock and IMHO a lot of the same old as well OldEngineer as hit the nail on the head...again IMHO
Exactly! ...Same here and definately true for 99% of the U.K gaming audience, Bioshock literally came from nowhere! I remember playing System Shock on the P.C when it came out several years back, it was 'okay' but nothing special, I watched Bioshock being developed and promoted, but I never expected Bioshock to be as good as it is! ...To be honest I can't play the game for more than an hour at a time A: because I'm in awe at it, and B: I don't want to finish it!!!!!
Really? I was thinking to update my rig but now that you mention that... Anyone knows if Flashpoint 2 is going to be released in X360? I know Portal and team fortress 2 are part of the orange box, but no idea about if codemasters is going to release that game in X360. Speaking of bioshock...
Exactly.. Over at my place.. Bioshock is like a stop gap measure for people who are waiting for halo. This game just came out of no where with little fanfare. No offence to Bioshock fans though.
Just got the game,very nice graphics and gameplay.Now if I can just kill a Big Daddy I will be set lol.
Maybe I just noticed it more since I love the System Shock games. Bioshock actually inspired me to start playing System Shock 2 again; maybe I'll actually finish it this time...
Bioshock is definitely an amazing title. Easily one of the best games to come out in a loooong loooong time. Probably going to wind up being the best game to come out this year (and maybe even next year, :lol: ). In so far as Halo 3: If you don't think Halo 3 is going to be massive and if you think it isn't being hyped, then you apparently don't spend much time in gamestores. I think Halo 3 has pre-ordered 1 million copies through Gamestop alone. I know our little store has over 100 pre-orders, and we're one of the LESS busy stores.
Halo3 is going to be this year's best seller, specially since both GTA4 and MGS4 got delayed until 08... I just wanna know how the story is going to end: will the UNSC win? or the covenant? will they show the forerunners? I just hope bungie wont pull a "wachowski" on us and put an abstract albeit mediocre ending, like the one from the matrix...
I certainly hope Bungie knows better. After the debacle that was Halo 2, me thinks they owe the fans BIG TIME!
I wish I worked at Bungie. They must spend 85% of their time listening to music, eating food and jerking off, since they obviously don't spend their time working. It's been 4 years since Halo 2 came out, and sure they've got new hardware to work on, but look at what's come out in less time: Bioshock Metroid Prime 3 FEAR Rainbow Six: Vegas Perfect Dark 0 Quake 4 Battlefield 2 Prey And even if you don't like those games, a lot are damn good. Halo 3 doesn't even look that good (not that graphics are everything, but when you're reusing the same microwaved concepts, what else are you gonna update?). A game like GT4 made me shit my pants. Halo 3 looks like the shit in my pants. It's still Xbox 1 era, surely? Exageration, yes, but you understand. BioShock is blowing minds right now, even without much hype. Is Halo going to? I doubt it. So why is it taking so long!?

Halo 2 (not really played it) but it is to my understanding that it left many fans disappointed with the ending and added little new to the formula. The only thing (in my eyes at least) that keeps the Halo franchise alive is the online multiplayer which is quite fun. With Halo 3 having slightly upgraded graphics from Halo 2 for the online portion, I can't see the single player game being much to write home about. [/halorant]
I think you guys should wait and see how Halo 3 actually looks like, because the beta (released few months ago) was a still work in progress and from what I can gather they revamped it significantly. now I'm not saying this is going to look like BS or GOW but wait 'till it's released :katamari: then we can judge ^_~
