Elevation Partners (Bono and others) bought a majority stake in the two companies, and merged them together. From what I've read they will both operate as a separate company, but whatever games are produced Elevation will take and position them for sale to publishers. They aren't going to self-publish, but take a Pixar type approach to the creation process. Pretty interesting approach, I hope it works out for them given BioWare's Canadian ties.
