hi guys , i use Foobar for music and one thing i do is stream radio. About 2 days ago Foobar stopped working ( streaming radio ) , so i have been troubleshooting for about 2 hours and found that Bitdefender Free Edition is blocking it.

If i turn off the Protection radio works , if i turn Protection on radio doesnt work. Anyone know how i can fix this or a workaround ?

    chat soon

add a exception for the servers you are connecting to?
or switch to a better AV

hi LeHaM , Bitdefender Free Edition is really limited on options so i can't add an exception/whitelist for the servers. Maybe i will have to get a new AV , what free ones are out there that don't hog system resources and can add exceptions ?

interestingly i tried another AV and uninstalled it cause it said i need to purchase it for real time protection. So i re-installed Bitdefender (Free) and radio streaming works fine now.............strange

Remove bit defender altogether. Use Malwarebytes (configure it, it's free). Problem solved.

Common sense is your best defense. That is unless you're for sure a target like a govt agency would be.
Malwarebytes offers live protection, or you can not use that like I do and only run it if you want to. By default V3 (as it's drastically changed since it first began) has a lot of things running by default that I dont like so i turn it off and configure it to never bug me til I open it.

I recommend using both Avast! Antivirus, and the free version of Malwarebytes. They co-exist happily, are fast and free, and having two separate protectors reduces the chances of infection.
