So today two Repro carts of some rather expensive Mega Drive Shmup goodness were waiting for me in the mail, Battle Mania 2 and my old nemesis, Glaylancer. Even on real Hardware I'm having trouble clearing the first stage in Glaylancer. A friend told me Tatsujin/Truxton next. I'm eyeing Gaiares, MUSHA is out of reach. Grind Stromer there is no promise it'll even work. The Thunder Force games call me. What should somebody who Can't clear Glaylancer's first stage be checking out?
Truxton is a sweet game, still play the odd game now and again to this day.. only thing that sucks about it, is that you can pause just after a smart bomb and practicaly wipe a boss out lol.
I think Truxton is almost a requirement. The Thunderforce games Gaiares Repros of Verytex and Eleminate Down. Gain Ground Elemental Master What else?
I'd say: Uchuu Senkan Gomora Steel Empire Gynoug Super Fantasy Zone Crying: Aseimei Sensou MAGIC GIRL (pretty good & tough) Wow I didn't realise Verytex was so expensive these days, wasn't a great game back in the days and cheap, quite funny.
