Man, all the black friday sales are something lame like 10% off, or buy one get one at a store that only carries childrens titles. Best I found so far is the zelda / ds lite for $109.99 Best buy does have some cheap pc software, but the lines there are HUGE. Anyone found any deals?
Nope. Even if there were one that I was interested in, I wouldn't stand in line for the seemingly necessary 12 hours just to save a few dollars.
Circuit City has Super Mario Galaxy for $34.99 and 4GB SD and MemStick Pros for $25. I might go check it out to pick those both up but it isn't really worth it for the lines.
Yeah, these sales suck. However, I did see a few good online ones, Best Buy has Guild Wars for 9$, Orange Box for 25$ on PC, and GoGamer has Unreal Anthology for 8$. I already have those though, and Orange Box I don't wanna buy yet. =(
Well gizmodo had a nice roundup of most, if not all the deals out there. Some may be worth a shot, but honestly landing one of those can be a bit tricky, specially when you have every cheap bastard in town willing to kick your ass just to get into the store before you do.
Check this from a NYT article: Donna Lhopitault, 38, stood in line at the Toys R Us in Times Square for four hours this morning to secure a deeply discounted Nintendo Wii video game system for $250 — more than half the price she has seen it online. What a fucktard! so she saw an overpriced unit at ebay or somewhere, and now she thinks thats the MSRP?:banghead: Note to all idiots out there: always check official sites for prices
Theres a good online deal at liongames.com....I guess anyhow. Theres 5$ off used games and Mass Effect/Assasins Creed for 45$. 5$ off: blackfriday1used (replace 1 with 2 or 3 if you bought that many games) blackfridaymass blackfriday.......ummmm I forgot the Creed one. I thought this was alright. so I'm sharin.
I had to work today, but had friends go. They said best buy had tag teams in line. One person would go for the items, while another would stand in line at the register. How damn stupid. I don't see why companies don't put all of these deals online. All you get is one day of stupid hype and lines, when online would push more through, as there's lots of people turned off of the whole spectacle.
Simple really -- the doorbusters don't make profit. Putting all the "deals" online would be a net loss. Getting people into the store when they're in the mood for shopping = a loss leader or two + a bunch of profitable extras. Net result = positive sales and PROFIT. -hl718
I didn't see much I wanted, but I bought a few older Xbox 360 titles used in that buy two get one free deal. Most of them they didn't have new anyway. They were in pretty good condition, and had the manuals. I used to hate buying used, because of this shitty pawn shop we had in town, with a very dishonest owner to boot.
I sent my poor sister out to toysRus to get a ps2 for my nephew (its what he wants) since they had a deal for a Ps2 & 3 games for $130. Sadly the line end up being way too damn long. Luckly Gamestop had a ok deal which was a $30 gift card when you buy a ps2. So atleast she can still go back in a few weeks and snag 1 game for my nephew. Capcom online store is giving 15% off if you purchase 3 games. Not amazing but works out well for me, I nabbed two capcom collections for psp & viewtiful joe psp. So 15% off plus shipping came to $62 which with my banks exchange rate puts me at $60. VJ psp is still $25 up here and only a small mom & pops has the capcom collection psp games but wants $30 a piece. So while not an amazing deal it still beats buying them localy.
The only semi-decent gaming deal I saw and took advantage of was the Orange Box for $24 at BestBuy.. I scored a kick ass Samsung color laser printer for $99 and Craftsman table saw though. I got a Ryobi router the other day and now with the table saw I can make some kick ass joysticks. First one is going to be a wireless PS3 stick in preperation for SSF2HD.
