I went into my local game shop today to find out how much black ops was gonna be before the release tonight, I nearly fell through the floor when he said rrp was £69.99 but they were having a open night special price of £65!!!!
That's nearly $107 but I somehow seriously doubt our American cousins will be paying that amount.....another exsample of ripoff Britain.

I think I will wait for the second hand Copys in a few weeks time

No news, what usually costs mainland europe 69 EURO, will cost in the US 69 USD.
Fine I can imagin that due to import taxes/translations and what not europe would be a little more expensive to release games, but UK could do just fine with US releases.. and somehow they are rippedoff worst: £69, or to keep them happy £65

On the US amazon site black ops is going for: $59.99 (£37/€42)

Wow, that sucks to be you guys. $59.99 here in the states like always, and normally Amazon holds a deal where they will sell it for $39.99 (in time for Xmas most likely).

Yeah, those are some mickey mouse prices for sure. I thought games in Europe were traditionally 60euro/50bps. Pricing them 70 anything is an insult... and twice the insult for Britain just by swapping the currency symbol out!!!

Yeah, it's exactly the same in Australia at the moment.
    For the 360 version it's $120AUD and $60USD (Using EB games Australia\US).

The Australian dollar is 98 US cents :/

Japanese 360 game prices are way too high as well. Back when I used to buy Saturn and Dreamcast games would cost 5800 yen. 360 and PS3 games cost 7000 yen or more most of the time. That's why I import all my 360 games (unless Japanese exclusive such as shooters, not FPS, real shooters) from Hong Kong. Even after shipping I'm still paying about 2000 yen less that the Japanese street price.

Agreed, also saw this price in GAME tonight and walked out laughing as they wanted £40 for the PC version. I was very disappointed not to find the PC version in any of the local supermarkets.

Thought to myself £40 is too much for a PC game, and then even Steam is selling it for £40!

Yeah, I saw this in GAME today and was quite taken back by the price. But looking the back of the PS3 case, it seems this was for the version that comes with a medal and other stuff. The normal version is about £40 - 45 I think.

I picked mine up for £44.99 which was a pre-order from Gamestation but a friend got his from Asda for something like £36.78; if pre-ordered from Asda you also got a T-Shirt and strategy guide thrown in for free.

Even then, Black Ops is $90AUD on Steam. I might as well pay the extra $10 to get the manual, box and disc so I don't have to rape my internet connection.
