Some guys from germany putting gaming soundtracks on vinyl. Great startup! http://blackscreenrecords.limitedrun.com/
yes, they need to contact Nobuo Uematsu! Its really cool idea putting sound track on a vinyl, with many extras, big artwork, i like it.
Exactly, Vinyl is an experience. Those large sleeves allowing for large artwork, the big disc you have to carefully handle and put on the table. It's also why I like Laserdiscs =P
dont have vinyl player at the mom but when the right contacts come on, i think about it. Vinyls are cool and big, love.
I love records and have done for the last 30 years but I don't see the point of modern game soundtracks being recorded from game hardware on to vinyl. Sure, you get the nice packing but the source is from a CD or console. By the way, please don't say VINYLS. It's not what they are called. They are Records. Vinyl is just the material they are printed on. It's like calling a digital media disc Plastics.
Or if you go way back "Albums" Vinyl records are the true albums in my opinion. Full art all the way.
It's just that vinyl sound, man. Can't explain it, it just has to be experienced! I even overheard a manager of a band talking about this band pressing their record to vinyl. It was recorded digitally, originally pressed onto CD, but they decided to make a vinyl release. They were amazed by the sound of the test vinyl (about the same as an engineering sample/prototype around here) which wouldn't sound as nice as the final pressing.
Do you per chance mean this one? https://mondotees.com/collections/music/products/outrun-ost Looks to be still available. Mondo and Konami are suposedly going to produce more CastleVania records later on this year(?), including SoTN. I will murder everything for SoTN on vinyl. EVERYTHING.
That's the one, but they had an AWESOME limited edition with a chance of it being signed? I was too slow! No compromises! The best or nothing!
Did you know that the type of mat you use also effects the sound? I use a rubber one myself but I've heard deer hide enhances the bass.
Never heard of that, but not at all surprised! I just have a basic Realistic brand record player, but it blows the doors off most of these modern plastic players
