My money is on early leak. A black 360 would give the Xbox a nice push going into the holidays. Honestly it doesnt surprises me at all. We all know (from the MTV special) that the X360 design team got a lot from the Apple teams, and since that company is releasing premium black versions of the macbook and ipod with great sucess is obvious MS may try to get some extra cash on the idea as well. But I wonder if MS is going to pull the trick exactly as Apple does and charge an extra hundred bucks for the black versions. If they do so, I'm not buying it...

The Japanese are going to be massive hypocrites if they like the PS3 more than the Xbox 360. They claim to hate the Xbox for the size of it, then I bet they will they turn around and love something bigger just because its going to be full of the games they love (or isn't too different from their xenophobic gaming culture) in a true fanboy fashion. Actually, the Xbox is a really dark, ugly green. Same with the controller, just look at it in direct sunlight, and the "black" button is dark blue.
I d like a metallic mat (aluminum) anthrax colored xbox 360, unlike the plastic version in production. Now that would be a nice piece of gaming ass

Eh, Im just a little surprised that the majority of them dislike them. It could be a cultural thing, but the small size of the country may make a difference, too. How many people live in Japan? According to topforums.com or whatever, Gaiaonline (an anime enthusiast club forum with mainly American members) had almost a fourth of a BILLION posts just last year. They have some crazy amount of members, too. Its the number 1 biggest forum, which is weird because I barely hear anything about it. Before I got any more off topic I was going to reply about the Black Xbox 360. It looks really sleek. I want to get one. I'm afraid I'm going Goth because I've been choosing nothing but the black version of everything I get lately.h:
