Black Xbox savegame does not work anymore

I wanted to play Black on Xbox today. Unfortunately Black doesn't recognize my savegame anymore. It always starts with the intro which I cannot stop. Then I have to wait 5 minutes for the main menu. Then I can only start a new game.

I set the correct date and time, but still not working.

I uploaded an old copy of my save to the xbox - still not working.

I downloaded different saves from the interent, still not working.

WTF???

It was so hard to finish the game. I can't believe that everything is lost and I see no reason why.

I had a similar problem with my Burnout 3 savegame some years ago. I needed a cracked default.xbe to get my savegame work.

I'm not sure what's the reason with Black, but if anyone has a hint I would be really pleased.

I could *'*$§" M$ and €A for their copyright protected savegames.

 

A lot of EA games have some sort of protection on them which does not allow you to copy or transfer the save game

I had the same problem with my burnout 3 save, it was about 90% complete then out of the blue got corrupeted, very frustrating!

Are you using the same Black disc as from before, as in not from a different region? as that could mess it up

If you are downloading a save game, make sure it is from the same region as the game itself

Other than that im not sure what to suggest :-(

 

It's the same game and the same xbox. However I installed a new Xbox Media Center some time ago. I also changed some region settings, but I don't know the setting I had before. I have a PAL xbox, but it does run in NTSC mode because of the HDTV support.

 

btw, is there another way to unlock all levels?

 

Probably down to the region settings, as im pretty sure thats what screwed up my save on burnout

as for skipping the levels, really have no idea, never really played Black much, have you checked to see if there is a trainer for it? (theres a script addon for XBMC that has a huge amount of game trainers)

 

I have only found a trainer for infinite ammo, health and so on, but not for level skipping

 

that last level was a sonnovabitch.

 

This happened with Morrowind on Xbox some time ago. And I hadn't duplicated my saves or anything. You can imagine how annoyed I was...

 

Easy fix for morrowind is delete the temp files on the X,Y, and Z partitions, works a treat!

 

unfortunately that does not go for Black:-(


btw, for Burnout 3 it is not possible to use a save from another Xbox. The savegame has a protection: A save works only if it was created on the system itself and not on a different system.

Probably that goes for Black too? Has anyone ever tested if you can use a savegame from a different Xbox in Black?

 

finally I got it working:icon_bigg

What I did:

- deleted the savegame on the xbox
- started the game Black
- created a new profile with my name
- rebooted Xbox
- my old savegame had a file called profil, I had to rename it to profile
- copied the profile file to the 1AAF1A.... subfolder
- started Black again and whoohooo it's working

But I'm not sure if it's my final savegame. There are not much missions. The last mission I can select is Spetriniv Gulag. Is that really the last mission?

 

from the title of the thread i thought it meant "Black Xbox" and i thought, "what does the color of the case have to do with a gamesave??" :lol:

glad you got it working though. and according to IGN's guide on the game, "Spetriniv Gulag" is the last level. :nod:

 

that last level is long though. It'll take at least an hour, and that's not including dying a few times.

 

I finished the last level on normal difficulty at my first try. It was so hard. It took me 2 hours to finish that level. I really had nothing at the end, except the pistol. It was luck.

btw, Is a sequel planned?

 

criterion said no sequel is planned, even saying that they are annoyed with all the fans who dare send them questions about it.

 

Black must have a sequel and with multiplayer.
