    Hey all,

I started a thread on Krikzz's forum, but didn't get very far in figuring out this issue. I will recap everything and hopefully someone else has seen this problem and can help?

    - Boots into black screen with and without SD card
-V3 cart with Key-6401 (I have read this is equivalent to CIC-6102)
    - Key-6401 means there is no NTSC-PAL switch as with the newest V3 boards
    - Here is a pic, at first I thought the pin being bridged directly to the SMD might have been an issue but a user from the Everdrive forum does not think so

Does anyone have any ideas? It booting into black screen would seem to point to it being a CIC related issue according to what I've read. I'm really stressed I bought a $150 flash cart a year ago and neglected to test it when it arrived.

Did you put the right firmware on the sd? Got another sd to try?

I did update to the latest firmware on the SD card. However, I think the key thing to note is that you should see a screen without a SD card inserted (an error screen informing you that a SD card cannot be read). Since that is not happening, I am inclined to believe it isn't an issue with a SD card. I do know this SD card worked with my 2.5 version before I upgraded to V3.

That is a good point. Hmm...

Could you show full pictures of both sides of the cart please?

Pin4 (i think its pin4) doesnt even look like its soldered down at all. In fact, it looks like it's been desoldered.. If you have a soldering iron and some solder, resolder that pin and see if it works.

I did find that suspicious too, no one commented on that angle. Are you positive that is safe to solder? I do have an iron I can do this with.

well, worst case, no changes. there isn't really anything serious that can happen from soldering that pin. where abouts in the world are you?

    I am in the US.
I looked this up, it certainly seems as though it should be soldered. The back end of the solder joint even looks a little suspect, can't hurt to add a little bit.

you can get a cheap soldering iron on amazon or something like that. if you dont have any experience soldering, i'll help you by linking some videos and stuff. it's an easy job, considering its just one pin.
