I recall seeing some images, and IIRC there was a TSOP flash (probably NAND) and an epoxy blob

Ah ok. I'm not worried too much about that. I want to see how easy it would be to desolder the screen, battery, SD slot etc.

I'll just buy one on pay day come to think of it, yeah the sound sucks but everything else I've heard about them is good.

battery is easy to remove, screen should be going into a socket, SD slot is probably some typical surface mounted ordeal you see everywhere else aswell.

The battery for it looks suspiciously like an old style nokia battery.
If the screen res is not too bad, I might be tempted to get one.

According to one reviewer the screen is the best thing about it. Apparently it's the best MD games have ever looked.

I've got one, and have to disagree with the screen, at least on my unit. The blacks have a green tinge to them, which varies in amount by how much you tilt the unit side to side.

The GP2X Wiz is by far the best MD games have ever looked that I've actually seen first hand, imho, and I have quite a few handhelds! 2x Blaze units, Dingoo A320, GP2x, Wiz, Nomad, PSP, DS, DSi, DSi XL etc etc!

Keep meaning to take mine apart and take pics, will try and remember tonight!

Yeah the GP2X was nice when I had one.

I will get one of these next week and butcher it. Got a crazy ass idea for a mod.
