I really just wondering if games that are labeled with blockbuster on it worth anything more at all? or if they should really be worth less?

Games that have rental stickers on them are worth less than those without in almost all circumstances. Stickers, marker writing, damage to the label, stains, all these detract from the value of a game. The only case I could see a Blockbuster sticker adding value is supposedly there are some games exclusively available at blockbuster. I've heard claims about Hagane but I don't know that it's true, and maybe more credible Final Fight Guy. Then there were those BlockBuster competition games.

But otherwise consider any store marking or stickers to be bad for value.

Alright thanks very much! Is there any safe way to remove them fro stickers?

I had a SOTN disk with rental markings on it. And when cleaning it the disk somehow cracked... sigh.

Applying anything to the label side of the disk (water, soap...) will sure damage the label (I learned that the hard way...). I don't think there's a safe way of removing stickers/marker writing from a disc label, unfortunately :/

Hollywood Video marked consoles and historically the dreamcasts from them are quite valuable, definitely more so than normal consoles.

Also some rental copies might have NFR on them.

I remember hollywood video and game crazy. They had one in my town. I wish I knew to look through their dumpsters as they were closing.

I' pretty sure what ever I used to clean that disk weakened the plastic and thats why it broke.

Sonic Adventure Limited Edition was an exclusive rental only for the Dreamcast months before it came out. Easily the rarest US Released game to find complete. they had stickers on them but I don't think it adds value, one may want to keep the sticker on for nostalgia but that's about it

Probably the fact that they were rented out before Dreamcast was officially release.

I worked at Hollywood Video during the Dreamcast launch and never saw anything special between the pre-release and the retail units (aside from the rental case) which is what prompted me to ask. It surprises me that anything from that company short of promotional signage is worth anything at all. The distribution center had this nasty habit of destroying products by either burning a logo into the plastic or placing tons of stickers right over the labels (even on optical media). The manuals were subjected to a horrific treatment of insanely strong tape that permanently bond them to the rental cases.

Uses the VA0 mobo, this has that nice heat pipe cooled system that is quite desirable

Blockbuster had their own things but I don't think anyone collects them just because they are Blockbuster items. The 2 big examples I can think of are exclusive rental games for N64, or rental consoles that come in the custom carry cases. I have the Blockbuster Sega Saturn, but when sales have come up on Ebay, I hadn't seen any real difference in price vs other Saturn systems.

Yes, on the bottom it has Blockbuster's "Please rewind" stickers. :D

But this isn't an only Blockbuster released Dreamcast, that's basically just any Rev 0 or Rev 1 model.

Well now I have to go and hunt down a dreamcast with the heat pipe as I love hardware revisions and that is a damn cool one. I'm assuming launch consoles had them?

I didn't know hollywood video had such horrid practices... I think I just never noticed that since a fond memory I have is walking into a game crazy for the first time and seeing all the older games. Loved it.

For the saturn that is pretty cool. I wonder how many made it out of blockbuster.

I didn't know there were rental only games for n64. I was a ps1 kid. Gonna have to look into that and see if I'd play any of them.
And that sonic LE... I can only assume I'll just dream of owning one that didnt cost me my soul.

    Thanks for the info guys.
