    Hey,

I've got a blue and a green debug PSX. Both are in fine cosmetic shape, and are system only (no cords, as they simply use standard PSX cords). The Green came from Acclaim, and has the Acclaim sticker on the bottom. The Blue is 1001, the green is 1201. Both are NTSC-U/C.

I think most people interested in PSX items know me by now, but if not, my ebay feedback is 100% as kevincure.

I think something like 100 for blue, 150 for green, plus postage, is a fair price. PM if interested.

You might be better off selling them on ebay if you want to sell them for a profit after buying them at a discount. Since they are from acclaim and have stickers on them, then they aren't worth near the price you're asking.

    Pictures help, too.

The blue isn't from Acclaim; only the green is. I'm pretty sure I'm selling both for a loss as well! I bought the green for around 150 + ship, and the blue for well over 100 a couple years ago. The Acclaim sticker on the green is only on the bottom of the console; the top is sticker-free.

Good luck on that. Their value has decreased a bit.

I have extreme doubts that anyone, atleast around here will be willing to pay what you are asking. Therefore I agree with madhatter

As you said, that was two years ago. The original PlayStation technology has obviously aged two years too, fewer people are interested and more of these units have become available for purchase. Thus, I fear, you are indeed asking for too much.

If they were boxed with leads, then it would be a different matter, but that is a mind-fuckingly high figure to expect for two bare units.

Just to give you a better idea of the prices around here, i bought a blue model for $50... and even then the offer was out there for a few weeks. These days $50 isn't a cheep price. You could probably get $100 for the green one if you added in the cables and a controller. Acclaim really put a hurting on the market.

Dev kits really aren't a good investment. Very few actually go up in value (SNES, i'm looking at you!). As later generation hardware comes out the last generation looses value like it's going out of style. Add this to the fact that PSX dev kits are unreliable as hell and many are pushing 10 years now...

I'm half expecting TEST ps2 to retain some value, but i'm really only guessing.

  8. I am unfamiliar with Playstation development... is this all I would need to use, say, PsyQ tools?

Dev equipment for obscure consoles such as: PC Engine, 32x, FMTowns, really don't lose value over time because there aren't many to be had in the first place.

First and formost they are collectors items or people buy them to actually develop programs on them. I wouldn't buy a PS2TEST if you plan on playing copied games and imports, the require some configuration, so you're better off modifying a retail PS2. The same for the PSX. As for Xbox and Katana kits people only buy them for the same reasons, but not to play copied games without having to chip the system.

I bought my PSX debugs simply to play backups and imports without having to mod it. This is why I ended up selling them because I needed the money (they are worth more than regular PSX) and because I can already play my backups and imports on a retail. The debugs weren't in mint condition to be considered collectible.
