Hi i found a blue ps1 disc today it is Tekken PAL a original copy as it works on my ps2 which is unmodded is a Blue tinted Ps1 disc Normal ? i have not seen one before all my 140 or so others are black on data side this is blue !
this is not normal as normal PAL are black this is blue even without strong light you can see it is colored blue
I have an late-gen Action Replay disc for PlayStation that's blue on the back. Is that common for those kinds of discs?
Never seen them before, I probably would of thought it was a bootleg. If many people have seen them before then it must be
If you arent going to listen to anything other than "Omg its not normal and super rare" - why ask in the first place? You did the same thing over and over with the GBC flash cart. Like I said, some discs were blue.
i have one of those not sure if it is blue or black atm havent looked in awhile but this is the first blue pal game i have seen and i have tons of pal ps1 games that are black on the data side of disc but this is the first game i have noticed that was blue
i hint sarcasm in that statement and i still am searching for other people with similar cartridges i have not found anyone yet and i have been looking through quiet a few forums since i found that and no similar cart is on google images either
Even if the disc is 'rare' it wouldn't matter... it's just another material, if it had a misprinted label then it would be worth more.
true that i seen one disc once but it was scratched beyond repair so i throw it out it was never going to start even after a clean at gametraders
I have seen blue bottomed PAL PS1 discs before when I worked in a game shop many moons ago. Like Bad-Ad84 said its just a normal version of the game that happens to be on a blue disc. Wouldn't say its rare as in valuable but its a nice variant to own if you collect Tekken stuff. Much like the Pink disc variant of Sega Rally 2 on the Dreamcast no difference in game with the 'normal' one but nice to have regardless.
I see what you mean i was not really intrested in the value too much i just wanted to know these things i am more after info of stuff usually if i cant find a answer via google i post here there is a few GT stores around Sydney i went to get some saturn games cleaned last week not sure how many there is i know there is at least 5
Most AR and GS discs were either black or blue bottom, in many cases depending on the version; however I would discard them in situations like this, since they were not manufactured by Sony (so they're not official). From what I read some time ago somewhere (sorry, I don't remember where and don't have the time to look for now), Sony produced (for the PS1) black, blue and silver bottom discs. Most were black. Silver was used at the end of the PS1 life, and IIRC only in Japan, though I could be wrong.
I'm pretty sure the blue bottom disc's weren't used as much because the laser had trouble reading them. Same went for ps2 games with blue bottoms.
