Hey there, I have bought this Universal S-Video AV Cable made by Bluetek. It's compatible with PS1, PS2, N64, GC (which doesn't support S-Video) yet advertised as working, and lastly Xbox I have bought the cable specifically for N64 but the image is way too bright. There are threads mentioning similar sort of issue with other S-Video cables too and PAL N64s. Being a total n00b when it comes to electronics would someone please tell me what I need to get to fix this problem. From what I've read it involves soldering a resistor or something on one of the wires? Thank you in advance!
If it advertised GC support, it's almost certainly an NTSC cable. Personally my uneducated at best opinion of PAL N64 decreases the more I hear about it. Even not owning one.
Why market an NTSC cable in Australia I wonder Bluetek PTY LTD P.O. Box 364 Double Bay NSW 1360 www.bluetek.com.au Thanks anyway Lum, maybe someone else can shed some light on the matter
Who knows. I've brought up similar things before, it seems like Naki marketed PS1 RGB SCART cables in the US.
In the end i opened the cable and since I only had one 75ohm resistor, i soldered it to Y Luma. Made all the difference - brightness is now back to normal, text in the games is so much easier to read but still having some troubles with 'double image' effect. Will another 75ohm and the other two capacitors fix this?
