Bonjours! I'm a french scripter (python) working in the CG industry and like spend time on anything related to N64 emulation (mupen64plus contributor). I lack of electronic background so I'm unable to understand a lot of technical stuff but I'm sure I'm not stupid enougth so I learn slowly, reading code and documentation. My current spare time project is to clean the mupen64plus rice video plugin from old deprecated OpenGL code (I also forgive to say I love GPUs while I only kindof-know how they work from the code side). Doing so I try to learn how N64 truly works (ucode and so forth) and it look massive. I want to know how peoples where writing mupen64plus (or Project64) plugins to be able to make Rice better. I like C because of how close to the hardware it is, even if I have no idea what you can truely achieve with it. If there any N64 hacker here, any ordered list of "what you should do to do what you seems to want" is appreciate. For now, I just dig into a mupen64plus video plugin but I'm sure there is also others things (maybe not N64 related) I could dig in to improve myself. Thanks in advance!
Welcome aboard! If you're looking into N64 plugins, maybe you can improve Lemmy's plugin, sure needs some updating
