Famitsu reports that the Dreamcast shooter Border Down is getting a reprint in 2008. Game will be available exclusively in Messesano though. No doubt import shops will pick it up. It appears that this time the soundtrack CD will be available separate from the game. The cover in the advertisement looks like the regular edition. Will the rerelease have a different cover and/or SKU? source: http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/1212848_1124.html
Even if it did it's not *that* difficult to fire up a line. GD-ROM pressing equipment is fairly interchangable with CD-ROM equipment. -hl718
Very interesting news. Now I wonder if that means G-Rev are thinking of porting their new Naomi game? Could they be testing the waters to see just how much Dreamcast shooters are still in demand? Yakumo
It could also be a way to increase awareness if they're thinking about an XBLA port. After all, Rez looks absolutely beautiful, Ikaruga is silky smooth and Triggerheart Excelia is quite promising. Sell the DC version to the hardcore fanboys, get the hype machine going then sell it on XBLA for cheap. Just a theory (so please don't report this elsewhere as fact). -hl718
Messe Sanoh are one of the few places you can still buy new dreamcast shooters and generally they are cheaper then what some other places (hello Trader) sell them for second hand. So it's slightly believable.
Funny thing is, I was just thinking about snagging a copy off eBay these last few weeks. Glad I waited. Let's hope this is indeed true though.
Trader has the best 2nd hand retro prices in town. Well, they have signs in their store saying they're getting it. They've done this w/ some other out of print games before though. I'd give them a bit more than slightly. Does Ikaruga on XBLA support TATE? I've heard Exelica looks like nothing special over the DC version.
I assume it will be a regular edition of border down in a single cd case and separately they will sell the OST, isn't it? I wish rereleases where just like the first release (in this case regular edition and then limited edition with double cd case and separate ost case + mouse mat).
What the princess sid. yoko = horizontal tate = vertical They're just Japanese words. Nothing really fancy. Just capped it so it would stand out.
If this is indeed a reality, will one of our Japanese members be willing to do a group order (ie: Yakumo, GaijinPunch) like in the past?
It's technically the 17th in Japan as I'm posting this. Has anyone picked up one of the reprints yet? Just wondering if it really is identical to the initial release. Thanks.
