Bored off my tits... what do you guys do at night?

I can't blame anyone but myself b/c I don't go out, but looking at the possibilties of clientel, there's no way I'm going to like clubbing on this damn rock. What do you guys do at night? My first 2 years in Tokyo I went out until about 10AM every Saturday night/Sunday morning. I loved it. I always ended up at Maniac Love and if I was lucky, Shinkawa was finishing off the weekend and about 20 of my friends were there. I don't think I know that many people on the island. Needless to say, I'm bored as fuck this Friday night w/ my thumb up my ass.

So, what do you guys do?

You think you have it bad. There isn't a decent bar or club anywhere close to me. Nothing but dives. Granted I have a wide variety (redneck dives, ghetto dives, white trash dives) to choose from but that doesn’t make it any better. There must be at least decent place where your at. It is Hawaii after all.

 

if theres nothing otherwise going on on a friday i usually waste it playing xbox counter-strike. although lately its been alot of chaos theory. that game owns.

 

I'm sure there are places with people... that doesn't mean they'll be fun. I went to a strip joint for a bachelor party a few weeks ago. It was pretty hideous. People here have their own ideas of how things should be... and so far, I don't agree.

 

I usually go to the student club, or the dorm neighbours... but that doesnt sound like an option for you of course. Very occassionally I go to clubs in Amsterdam but it kills you to drink a lot and get home at 5 every week (at least it didn't make me feel healthy)

 

Well, I frequent an arcade alot, sometimes, movies are great and in general hanging out. For instance last night went:

I'm sure theres bound to be SOMETHING to do in Tokyo, I mean, its a huge city. All there is here... is an arcade... umm... yeah.... and thats not even that close. We had to travel 2 hours to see howls moving castle... quite desolate here. be happy you have clubs

 

Well today I spent the time with my coordinator from work. I picked her up at 2pm then had Yakiniku (sort of like BBQ) at 6pm then off to have coffee down at the river side and show her how to use her new phone (bought the same as mine but in pink). Dropped her off at her parents place at 10pm (Still lives there) then drive myself back home to an empty house :smt022 Still, at least the day was fun :ramen :-D :ramen

I've been off from school for the last few weeks, so I've had nothing in particular to do. So, here's what I've done/recommend:

*Sit around with people (it's better than sitting by yourself)

*Take up fishing. Say what you will, but fishing is pretty fun. You might not catch anything, but it's a great way to blow an afternoon...and a good bit of the night...

*Play a whole lot of DDR. Other video games work well too, but as long as you're doing nothing, you might as well get some exercise too.

*See movies. Don't see "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" I'd rather get punched in Mr. and Mrs. Testicle than see that turd again.

*Go shopping. Spending money is teh r0xx0rs d00d. Get yourself some fancy clothes or something.

*Get pesky medical appointments out of the way. Get you teeth cleaned. Find out what that rash really is.

*Get buff. No. I'm serious. Work out, gain muscles. Impress your friends with your ability to lift them over your head.

*Hey, since you took my last bit of advice...show it off. Go to the beach and show off how ripped you are. Go surfing. Or swimming. Let people pay you to punch your oh-so-ripped abs.

*Take up juggling. Everybody loves a juggler. Don't just juggle three. Anyone can do that. People who can juggle four balls get the ladies. No they don't. They really don't. (

*Take up smoking. You'll look cool. Smoke cigars though. They'll make you look like you're a rich businessman. (Works really well in a suit and top hat).

I'll let you determine how serious some of those things are. (Juggling rules!)

At night... I generally do nothing. Sometimes I do, like... work, on projects (when I have stuff to do for the Master's - which is generally online with teams from other city that decide to get together at 10pm or something).
I get out of work at 9pm tuesday an thursday. I generally go to my grandmother's house, but sometimes I go out of the way to go to Walmart with my sister, to just look at the way people behave, even if it's when there's not many people.

I have become somewhat of a hermit with the years, and I generally do not leave the house, and I avoid crowds as much as I can (riding a bus in Mexico is like going into a mini-crowd on wheels, but that's another story).
If I go out or do stuff, I go out in the morning or early afternoon. I go to the black market Saturday or Sunday morning, I go out with my friends in the early afternoon but generally, the affairs turn out to end after midnight. We just love wasting our time.

I don't go to bars and I hate clubs. Clubs here, select people like they were cattle (you can go in, but you can't) - and what for? to pay 60 pesos for a glass of cheap Vodka, to hang out with rich snobbish morons? Clubs here suck ass.

I hang out in Chapultepec (an avenue / area) of the city named after a forest in Mexico city, where all the cafès and bookstores are. I work like 5 blocks from there, but even before, since my early teens, I've been going there at least once a week.

And, of course, I play games. Not so much anymore since my PS2 is dead and there's no new dreamcast stuff in the black market... but I've taken Atari collecting, so that's pretty cool to play.

As for me. I just chill out and play some Counter Strike Source Battlefield 1942 and some PlayStation.

I work out regularly. Every other day. The other days, I either surf or ride my bike for 5 miles or so. Maybe swim. I'm not super cut, but better than most poeple in the states, not to mention Hawaii.

I had a miniature version of your problem - a girlfriend I really loved that broke up with me wanted to get back, but I started seeing an old friend of mine - now as a girlfriend. Boy, is that situation uncomfortable. What I did, is I let things happen as they had to. Didn't move anything and let things happen on their own. While I cannot offer this as advice to you due to my lack of experience, I can at least empathise with you, sir - and hope all works out really well.

What ended up happening to me? Well; I didn't return to the former gilrfriend - and instead stayed with my old friend/new girlfriend (this was a year and a half ago), and while we've had our share of problems, things have been very good. I'd say give both situations time, and they'll fix themselves. I really hope things get much better for you, sir.

I must be a boring person because all I do is go to work, go home and relax, go to sleep and repeat. Day in and day out. I'm just happy if I can make it home from work in one piece -_-

Have you been to ALL the beaches in Hawaii? There's bound to be beautiful women at almost all beaches. Those 280lb women must have a hot daughter somewhere near them that's in college. It's summer, so they're in season ;-).
