Bought a PS Vita dev kit that was in some random flea market...

Hey people, so I was browsing FB like I usually do and over at "PS Vita gamers Unite" on FB, spotted an interesting post. There was a guy that found a Vita dev kit in some random flea market in Pennsylvania. The lady sold it to him having no idea what she sold him. I bought it off of him for $200. He could not gauge a proper price for it so just said $200. Anyway, it should be here in a day or two. What are some things I should do/look for when it arrives? Not that I'm dumb enough to do this without asking, but should I totally avoid updating the firmware? What kinda value does it even have? We could not even gauge it's value. Anyway info would help.

 

No in fact the opposite is for the vita. Locate 3.60 for devkits, and some of the pc communications tools that were leaked and you can update it and do things. From 3.60 henkaku is the next step

@mathieulh @fate6 can fill you in on what else you can do.

 

If its on 1.60 or below then don't update it, If it is over that then update it to 3.60 and use HENkaku to enable most of its functionality.

Depends, usually about $500 if they are not scratched up / are in good shape but every now and again one shows up for $250 or so if not less.
