[ Bravia LCD Distorted ] If I Removed the Plastic Protection Panel Will It Expose a Clear LCD?

    Hi. On the photo attached If I remove the panel infront protecting the LCD screen of this Bravia would that remove the distortion by exposing the LCD panel much like you can have a clearer screen if you removed a scratched up panel that protects the LCD itself on consoles like the Game Boy?

    If no, would it be cheaper to buy a new one or is it still cheaper to have the Bravia's screen fixed or replaced? Your recommendation is welcome.

    I'd also like to ask, what's this LCD screen damaged called and what causes it?

    No that screens is damaged beyond repair. also the panel will cost more to replace then buying that TV again second hand. it almost looks like chemical or water damage. NOW if you want to try to remove the film, def try since its not worth much anything as it sits, so it won't hurt anything to try your hypothesis.
