Time Warner Oceanic Roadrunner or whatever it's called said it'll take 3 weeks to install my cable internet. So, until them I'm stuck on broadband... or so I thought. Turns out I have a rocket scientist in the vicinity with wiresless internet, and he doesn't know how to protect it. Anyone have similar stories? I'm not going to push it and go on a porno rampage, but some online gaming will be in line.
No, except for the fact that my Verizon DSL dropped to downloading at around 20 KBPS, from 200 KBPS. I had to call them, everything. Their connection software was evidently tested by Tarzan.
i got someone who also has a wireless network advertising. However i dont know what i can do with that... i can connnect to it however!
Well, luckily the guys in my building have DHCP enabled on their router, so I was able to get an IP quite easily. Beats the tits out of dialup!!!
Code: (Mootar) morons. (Mootar) these people who live in my apartment complex are connected to my wireless (Mootar) they must think they're super-cool hackers by breaking into my completely unsecure network (Mootar) unfortunatly, the connection works both ways (Mootar) long story short, they now have loads of horse porn on their computer
Did you mean 56k? Because Cable is a type of Broadband. Of course if I was "borrowing" someone's internet, I wouldn't send them anything at all... :smt083 :smt042
I recently had a problem with the noisy git living upstairs using my bandwidth :smt067 NTT installed ADSL for him but used my line, the bastards !!! So my download speed dropped like hell. Even browsing the net was slow. I called NTT and they came round the other day to fix the problem. I asked for free internet for a month as compensation to the two weeks of speed loss but they told be to piss off basically. At least my net is back to full speed. Yakumo
Well, about a year ago my dad got a top of the line Ipaq on loan from work... with a WiFi card. I found out that the Leiden University Hospital has an open WLAN with DHCP :-D (in fact, the whole city of Leiden has free wireless internet, but you need an external antenna, so I've heard)
