Okay, so before my unhealthy console collecting OCD happened, I had a PAL BC CECHC PS3. I was hacking it and stuff, and I tried to install a custom firmware via service mode instead of recovery mode, and things went... well.. TERRIBLY. So now I am going to attempt to fix it again. I believe it has a NAND brick. It turns on, and then turns off again after about 10 seconds. No flashing light, or yellow light or anything, it just turns off. I cannot get into recovery mode. ever. So don't tell me I am doing it wrong XD. Any guidance is greatly appreciated. I need my blu-ray playback and Final Fantasy XIII-2 D:
XD hoping for some actual fixing knowledge, as this is really not in depth Can't replace parts because they are specifically linked to your machine. well at least the motherboard is. I'll probably keep it forever as a memento of my immense failure
Don't know why I'm in this thread but really a good idea. haha I still have an HTC hero I bricked sitting on the table next to me, its probably sat there for 2 years . It was one of the first phones i tried to flash. Always reminds me to not do something blindly.
to me it sounds like you managed to erase the nand. if that's the case, there's not much hope since the recovery mode is gone along with the nand contents. (i bricked one similar way to this by hacking the XMB graphics and managed to bring the recovery mode rco's into unstable state.) im not sure if soldering in the dual nand thingy would save you, because it might need the original system files to proeprly initialize itself.
Similar responses to what I have gotten before, and that further backs up my decision to give up Thanks Mugi.
you could get a NAND flasher and fix things right up they range in price check PSX-scene for a list of flashers
Yes but I can't use someone else's NAND, gotta use a fixed one from my own console, which is screwed.
charge 150 bucks when out of warranty, and will send me a non-backwards-compatible one in return. I can just get a broken one from said friend and replace the laser.
umm yes you can with NAND flashers its just erasing the nand and then re-flashing with OFW 3.5.5 its fixed wanko bricks
